"Beautiful... absolutely beautiful"

"This is a collection of hymns. I love that they are not over produced, and I'm also appreciative that I don't have to listen to those annoying modern tics, like the broken-voiced moan, or the addition of seven thousand extra notes added to one syllable. The singer's voice is lovely and obviously very well trained, but the voice itself is not center stage here, the songs are. You can understand all the words, the sentiment is sincere, and the approach is humble. This is not to say that there are no thrills. Sometimes the voice is sweet and simple and innocent sounding, almost as if a child were singing (Be Still My Soul) , other times we are very aware that this is a strong woman singing (A Mighty Fortress is Our God). Sometimes there is a simple guitar accompaniment, but on other songs you might hear a soft jazz styling, or an African beat. The singer is equally comfortable with the low throaty notes (my favorite) to the high, soaring pitches. But most of all, you can hear the devotion to God that the singer herself feels. A voice as warm as Rosemary Clooney, with the range of Julie Andrews."
